Many companies have back up plans. We at AMS feel secure in that we have gone a step further by protecting our system with a recovery plan. This plan protects us against total disaster recovery, but it also backs us up in the event that an employee accidentally deletes the incorrect file, or loses an important email. These events are certainly more common- and our system is critically important in checking for human error.

Our information technology specialists have a constant inventory of employees, what data and applications they are using, why they are using them, and what would be necessary if data were lost. They also quantify the man-hours and dollars associated with a loss, and how mconfidential stampuch it would take to restore data. They have tested different methods of data recovery to detect the most valuable and appropriate method for each loss. This gives values to each type of data, what should be recovered first, and how it should be done; critical information to have if we should have a loss of data.

All efforts by our information technology department in data recovery are consistently tested and validated. They are kept confidential. In the event that we must sub-contract an outside source to assist our information technology specialists, they will sign a Non-Disclosure Contract to assure proper security is maintained.

Additionally, all passwords, switch and router settings, and information on device baseline is stored securely off-site. Current back-ups are made from our hard drive for quick restoration. Our restoration plans are specifically geared for situations and weather-related disasters related to the geographical area in which we reside. For example, in the event of a loss of power, all phone and computer systems are automatically switched to an uninterrupted power back-up supply.

At AMS we keep and maintain a full back-up of live data. We complete a back-up session each evening. Tapes of calls are archived in weeks, then months, then years for data retention and organization. All is stored securely off-site.

Confidential – Plan for High Level Recovery

Purpose: To fully regain all information in 24 hours in case of a disaster.

A two-level plan for the regeneration of phone service or office space in event of partial loss, but no elimination of data involved, OR recovery in the event of total loss including data and operations.

Emergency Plan, Level 1:

  • The director of emergency operations will immediately asses the situation for level of concern and evaluate what course of action needs be taken for total restoration. He will contact and coordinate emergency personnel if necessary.
  • If phone lines are out, calls will be re-routed to our back up lines through a different service provider. This can be completed in 2 hours or less.
  • Our website will continue to work off site so on line payments will continue.
  • The courts will be contacted and informed regarding the situation via phone and email.
  • Emergency team contacts client services to inform them on the situation
  • All servers are portable and will be moved to another location if necessary and deemed appropriate by the emergency team.

Emergency Plan, Level 2

  • All steps from Level 1 are first executed.
  • We will resume operations as quickly as possible, even if limited. This will allow a continuation of phone correspondence, payment reception and completing scheduled collection notices.
  • If our collection center is deemed unusable, we will immediately locate a vacant space for operations to persist in the local area.
  • All employees will be discharged to a standby status during business hours.

Making sure you DATA is safe is paramount to our recovery efforts!
